Petula has also starred in
four major theatrical West End and Broadway productions including
The Sound Of Music as Maria,
Someone Like You as Abigail,
Blood Brothers
as Mrs. Johnstone and
Sunset Boulevard as Norma Desmond.
In 1983 Petula also appeared
in George Bernard Shaw's Candida
at the Yvonne Arnaud
Theatre, Guildford.
In 1998 Petula was honoured by Queen Elizabeth II by being made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
