The
Downtown Single by The Saw Doctors
featuring Petula Clark is the highest new entry in
the Irish Christmas singles charts.
The official Irish Christmas charts are out, and we are delighted to say that Downtown featuring Petula Clark is the highest new entry going straight in at number 2.
Unfortunately The Saw Doctors just missed out on the number 1 spot to this year’s X-Factor winners Little Mix and their cover of the Damien Rice song Cannonball.

career. The collection also includes a significant gathering of
collected works; original photographs, sheet music, handbills,
programmes, posters, news cuttings, books and periodicals. The archive

J'ACCUSE...! - THE PASSIONS OF EMILE ZOLA
Petula Clark and Dee Shipman began writing their musical based on the
life of French author Emile Zola in 1988, while their first musical
Someone Like You was in pre-production. Although the musical was demo'd
in 1988 and 1991 a production never came to fruition and the score
remained incomplete. In autumn 2010 Stage Door Records
commissioned a brand new studio concept recording, assembling an all star cast of West
End performers. Recording at London's prolific Angel Studios between
January - March 2011, J'Accuse...! features orchestrations and musical
direction by Paul Bateman (musical
director to Sarah Brightman
and Lesley Garrett) and the West End voices of Dave Willetts, Jill Martin and Meredith Braun.
The musical is currently in the pre-production stages, with a new book
by Dee Shipman and direction by Dave Willetts. A production is
envisaged for 2012.
